Case Study: Scalable Hardware Validation for IoT System-on-Chip (SoC)

The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT) requires microprocessors that are both powerful and highly energy-efficient. A semiconductor client needed to ensure their latest silicon was ready for integration into a wide array of smart devices.

Custom scalable hardware test platform and mobile application used for IoT System-on-Chip (SoC) functional validation.

To maintain strict client confidentiality, the imagery featured in this case study is AI-generated and serves for illustrative purposes only.

The Challenge

The client needed to validate a new SoC in an Internet-of-Things (IoT) product portfolio. The complexity of modern IoT devices requires rigorous functional testing to guarantee seamless performance, connectivity, and power management before mass deployment.

The Engineering Solution

To address this complex testing requirement, RLA Engineering engineered a complete testing ecosystem. We developed a scalable hardware test platform and a companion mobile app that was used for the full validation of the SoC. This hardware-software combination allowed for deep functional testing, simulating real-world IoT environments to stress-test the chip's capabilities.
